About the Business
Over the past few months we have been approached by various agencies who have identified risks to individuals in the night-time economy. We were asked to consider how our licensing regime can help to make customers of pubs, bars and clubs who may be vulnerable safer. We worked with these agencies to develop this additional training so that security staff have a greater awareness of some of the dangerous situations that customers can find themselves in.
Some of the additional content was adapted from an initiative delivered by Northumbria Police, who had already started delivering training to door supervisors in Newcastle to raise awareness of how to identify and help people who are unable to look after themselves, or are at risk of an assault. We were also asked by the Home Office to ensure that security operatives have an awareness of child sexual exploitation.
